I’m trying to get my FW connection working on my Cubase 5. I have downloaded the appropriate FW and following along with the instructions I pressed UTILTY>F5 CONTROL and I am seeing the midi in/out as showing MIDI-USB-MLAN but no FW ( the instructions reads I should see FW as an option) . I have my FW cable connected from the XS to my MAC OS. Also when I double click on my FW icon I am getting a blank pop up with no details on it. Something wrong here?

I presume that your XS has an mLAN16E2 installed in it - have you updated the firmware? Have you set the “IEEE1394 Driver” parameter in the XS properly?

Where can I install the IEEE1394 updater from? and yes my XS8 does have the MLAN,

You can get it here. Be sure to download the correct version for your computer OS, and follow directions.
