Hi, I need some advice on creating the arp synth bass used in this classic Van Halen track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VaEdKwXJhM I’m going to be playing it in my band on either my Motif or MOX. Has anyone already created the sound and willing to share? |

Please see the first six or so posts in This Thread. There is an explanation for utilizing cached web pages, which is how you must now access XS threads. |

It’s usually always ‘Pilot Error’…
Btw, it didn’t like this screenshot being 578 kb.

Sorry, but you’re still experiencing ‘Pilot Error’. :-) The Motifator Archive only covers threads that are several years old. The Google Cache includes much more recent ones. If you do a Google search, and get a hit like the one in the attachment below, just click on the green downward arrow at the end of the URL. If “cached” appears, click on that.
If you have a URL such as…
For example, this works:

Thanks 5Pin
Need to thank ‘eltmatt’, the OP, for my going a bit far off topic with his thread.... which, btw, I don’t think Michael is using a ‘synth bass’ sound.

The post above has not a thing to do with your question, it is simply SPAM. |

Sent you a PM with a file. Tried to post it here, no joy. I created an alias(zip) on my Mac(24kb), clicked choose file, selected the file and it appeared next to the choose file box. Clicked submit and nothing. I’m trying to establish some computer skills here and it’s not going well. Sorry. Stone |

Apologies in advance, because this is going to be off-topic… I’m not a “Mac guy”, but it’s my understanding that an alias is just a shortcut to the actual file. I’m not sure how that relates to a zip (compressed/archive) file.
For OS X, this explains how to zip:
I’ve had no problem posting zipped files, so unless something has happened very recently, things should go smoothly. As an experiment, I’ve captured your post as a GIF, compressed it to a ZIP, and will attach it to this post. Let’s see what happens. EDIT: Seems to work OK. File Attachments

Thank you 5pin. I found a create archive selection in the finder. Not sure about right clicking on a laptop, but when I created an archive I viewed a .zip at the end of the file. I hope it works, frustration is taking a toll. Apologies to all for my shortcomings. Stone File Attachments
