Boom (drums), Vacuum (bass, xyloish synth, and ending synth), XPand! (strings) and S90 (MIDI controller and drum fills).

I actually love the strings sounds from XPand!. Layered with Yamaha strings presents a really live feel. It is even harder trying to avoid using te sustain pedal.

These are the soundscapes I’m working with nowadays. LOL…

Re: Too Hard (4:29)

I love this sound, that doesn´t flatter my ears, a little bit dirty. The song has an immanent dramatic/dynamic. Very well done!

Re: Too Hard (4:29)

Oh yeah, my favorite of the three you’ve posted.
Your drummers get to have freedom of expression on this one..LOL
Smooth transitions, from part to part, nicely done DF.

Oh, and my bad, I thought you had an S90, and I think the Motif came after that as well.
Anyway, keep bringing the fire brother, sounds GREAT.

Thanks for sharing your work.

hncheema,

Usher? I would definitely love to have his vocals on this track. Or any mainstream artist for that matter. LOL. Thanks for listening!....

mmusic,

I’m glad you love this sound. I love the strings and drums in particular. It has a dramatic dirty feel like you say. LOL. Thanks for commenting!....

Re: Too Hard (4:29)

The Funk Master,

I’m glad you like this one. I will definitely work on a better mix on this one. I think the high strings may be too harsh for sensitive ears. I’m glad you like my drummers. LOL. I try to make the transitions make musical sense, but sometimes it doesn’t. LOL. Glad you like it though! I especially like the ending sound (like an organ) from the Vacuum plug in in ProTools.

I do not personally own an S90, but one of my coworkers here has one and that is what I used as a MIDI controller and for some sounds. I am beginning to use that more as I spend 8 or more hours here at work. I am free to use the studio during down time. My goal is maybe 2 or 3 tracks a week. Nothing too stressful. LOL.

I have a Yamaha PSR 750 (or maybe 730, can’t remember. LOL) and a Motif 7 at home! Thanks for listening!....

Re: Too Hard (4:29)

tramontano,

Feel free to throw a freestyle and post it up here as a new post (something like “Tramontano freestyle over Da Fingaz Too Hard track). I would love to hear it. The bass sound is from a soft synth called “Vacuum” that comes with ProTools 8. Glad you liked the intro. Thanks for listening!....
