Re: Sonar 7 Odd Noises!!!

I have a tascam US428 (USB) interface, with the MO6 and MPC 4k audio going into it. Everything has be alright until a few days ago. When I arm the tracks the audio level jumps all the way up in the red and stays there, completely distorting whatever I ATTEMPT to record. Ive un-installed and re-installed the interface and still have the same problem. It was reccomended to me to just get a newer and better interface.

Hmmmm.  Don’t throw out the baby yet… Let’s check the bathwater first…

Are the OVERLOAD lights on on the Tascam?

Have you changed the GAIN trimmers?

Does it do the same thing for ALL inputs?

Does it do the same thing even if the TASCAM is MUTED?

Yes, yes, and yes. No matter the inputs, or muted it still peaks all the way. I’m at my wits end

Re: Sonar 7 Odd Noises!!!

Hmmm… May sound like an odd question, but does it do it if there’s NOTHING physically connected to the inputs?

If so, it sounds like a feedback loop might have been defined between Sonar and the TASCAM.  Try turning off the ECHO switch in the track in SONAR.

I have done this inadvertently before (but not on a TASCAM...)

Is SONAR sending FOUR-BANK Control protocol to the Tascam, screwing up all the settings?
