Motif’s relationship with audio samples is one of its most alluring attributes. You can both use samples as the basis for a new Motif Voice, or you can load in a sample groove into the Pattern sequencer, and even convert it into as MIDI using Motif’s brilliant slice+Seq feature. Motif may not set itself up as a replacement for a professional sampler, but as a sample coordinator, it is both feature-packed and handsomely equipped in terms of available sample CD material, all of which can be purchased here in the MotifMart. All sample CDs on this page will work with Motif. Some are in Yamaha A Series (sampler) format, which Motif can read (Motif can also read Akai S-1000 format). Some are simply audio, which you can use as raw material to sample into Motif yourself. To load data from any sample CD into Motif you will, of course, need a CD drive.
