Hello!
I followed these instructions on Yamaha support page just to simply control volume of a voice with a foot pedal:
https://www.yamahasynth.com/motifxf-category/physical-controllers-and-destination-parameters

But the volume pedal still doesn’t react.
It’s plugged in at Foot Controller 1.
In UTILITY/Control is set the “Foot Controller 1 Control No.” to 04 Foot Controller, 07 Channel Volume or 11 Expression.
The Voice Output Level Volume is set to 0 and at “Controller Set Assignment” I choose as source “FootCtrl1” and Destination “volume”, depth to +64.
Nothing happens.
If I choose “Modwheel” as source everything works fine…

Is the FC7 pedal broken?
Actually it is not mine; I borrowed it from a friend…

Thanks for any idea...!!!

Foot Controller 1 (FC1) in Utility Mode Controller Settings should be showing (11) Expression Controller.

Is that what you are seeing?

Thanks for your answer!
I checked this out and it’s okay but luckily I found the problem :
The cable of the FC7 is broken… when I pull and squeeze it a little at a special point it works!
So… sorry for the superfluous post.

Glad you solved it!

Replacing the cable is a relatively easy DIY fix.

Use a standard TRS (stereo) 1/4” Phone Jack cable, and match the internal pedal wiring of the original.

Hey cool! Thanks for the hint!
So the opening and closing of the FC7 and the attaching of the cable is simple?

It is simple, but does require basic soldering within the pedal.

I would buy a TRS cable of the length you desire, and cut off one of the end jacks.  Identify (on the original cable) which of the three leads goes to each jack contact...tip, ring, and sleeve...and where each goes internally to the pedal.

This soldering job is not precision, it is very basic mid-20th century!

The hardest part, really, is to get the big physical pieces of the pedal back together correctly.  You will find it extremely helpful to snap some pictures on your phone as you disassemble, to aid in reassembly.

You may...or may not...find the attached Manual useful.  It is the total documentation that comes with the pedal.
