Hi there

I think you need to be a bit clearer about what you are doing.
A MIDI export won’t contain any audio, and from your post it appears that the Audio export does work for you.

Cheers

If you are only recording the MIDI from your MOXF into Cubase, you need to also record the audio on a separate track.

MIDI does not contain any audio, if that is what you are trying to achieve. A MIDI export/file is only data.

If I get the story:
If you play a pure midi track that routed to the midi input of the MOXF, you may get sound via the instrument’s own audio interface and audio output but that sound doesn’t reach the DAW software at all and therefore it cannot be mixed down from the DAW.
(1) So create a new audio track in the DAW and set MOXF as audio input.
(2) Arm that single audio channel. See if signal comes in when you hit a key or play midi. Set input level.
(3) Goto start position and start “record”. This way midi track(s) will be played (by DAW to MOXF) while audio will be played as well (by MOXF to DAW) and also recoreded in the audio track.
(4) When finished, you can play your audio track while midi track muted and/or audio track receiving MOXF signals is disarmed.
(5) Normalize audio track to get optimized audio export. Then mix down into the format you wish.
Hope that helps. Other scenarios are possible. This is a general description not specific to any DAW or synth (neither to Cubase or MOXF).
