Hi Members!

I am facing a very frustrating issue with my Firewire Card/Firewire Driver.

I.
Problem
I am experiencing a lot of pops and lags with the Yamaha Firewire Card/Yamaha Driver, while I play/record on Cubase 7 LE, 64 Bit. It used to work some time back. I have successfully recorded some songs earlier.

II.
Setup
1) Yamaha Motix XS connected to Lenovo Laptop via a Firewire Cable
2) Akai MPK MIDI Controller is connected to the Lenovo Laptop Via USB to MIDI
3) Cubase LE 64 Bit
4) Attachments of the snapshots with the settings.

III.
Steps to Recreate Problem.
a) Load up any VST, example, Omnisphere 64 Bit or Kontakt 64 bit.
b) Play few Chords or Notes on Akai MPK.
c) The Audio Lags with some pops.

IV.
TroubleShooting

a) Yamaha Firewire Driver
I have tried the following:
1) I repeatedly, uninstall and reinstalled the Yamaha Driver, but still, face the problem.
2) I have tried various Sample Sizes, for the buffer. I have tried it from very low, medium and to a very large sample size as well.
3) I have Disabled the Network Card, both LAN/Wireless.
4) I have no USB external USB hubs attached, except the MIDI to USB Controller wire.
5) I have Uninstalled AVG.
6) I used Latencymon. It initially said to disable CPU throttling. After I did that, I changed the percentage to 61%. After I did that, still I get lags.
7) I set the Yamaha Firewire Process and Cubase 7 affinity to Realtime.
8) Also, for fun, I have some local mp3, which when I play, using Yamaha Firewire as a sound card, it also, exhibits the same problem, of lag.
9) Enable MMCSS is Checked and Unchecked, and still I get the same problem.

b) ASIO4AllV2
This works all with or without the above tweaks. In contrast, I do not hear clicks or pops, nor a lag.

V.
Below is my hardware spec.

The Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver download should include a “Utility” folder, with a YSFWUTILITY program. Have you run it, and tried various settings? If not, you might want to set other things back to default, then run the utility.
