Greetings, I’m attempting to use my Motif XS7 to input my playing into Finale (Mac). I used to have them connected via a midi interface (in the old days), and this is the first time that I’m trying to make this work via usb. I have no problem setting the Motif to usb, but here is where I’m running into a problem: In Finale, you go into a menu where it senses what key you’re designating as the “metronome key”. (You play quarter notes with the metronome key with your left hand, while inputting notes in real time with your right hand.) When I used to do this via midi, I had no problem. Finale would ask me to play the key I designated as the metronome key, and it would easily sense the key that I depressed. But now I’m trying this via usb, and when I tell Finale to ‘listen’ for that metronome key, it immediately senses something else before I play a key, and deactivates. I made sure that the mod wheel and pitch bend wheels are set to zero, and the sustain pedal isn’t being depressed. What is the Motif sending out that Finale is detecting, and how do I stop it? Thanks so much for you help!
Regards,

Possibly MIDI clock, which you can disable. |
