Hi,

I need to install my motif XF8 on Cubase 8.5 on my Mac Book Pro running MAC OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, I need to install the motif through USB-MIDI. I am writing to you because after a couple of attempts I still have a “USB Port Error” showing up on the Motif XF Editor when I am on cubase 8. I have also no “MIDI PORT” showing whatsoever on the “DEVICE SETUP"/ “MIDI” folder on Cubase 8. Here is the exact steps I followed (these are the ones I found on YamahaSynth.com):

1) I Installed, Activated and Registered “Cubase 8.4” on my computer

2) I downloaded and Installed the following software by going to the Motif XF download site.
The Official Yamaha Download Site:

_ I downloaded and installed the latest “MOTIF XF Extension V1.1.1”
_ I downloaded and installed the latest “MOTIF XF Editor Standalone_VST V1.6.6.pkg”
_ I downloaded and installed the latest “Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver V1.3.2”

3) Since I use USB, in order to Connect the Motif XF to my computer via USB I set my Motif XF to MIDI IN/OUT = USB. Here is how I did it:

Pressed [UTILITY]
Pressed [F5] CONTROL
Pressed [SF2] MIDI
Set MIDI IN/OUT = USB
Pressed [STORE] to write this to my Flash ROM

4) Then I launched Cubase 8.5

I clicked DEVICES
I selected DEVICE SETUP
Under the “MIDI” folder highlight “MIDI PORT SETUP”
THERE I CAN NOT SEE MY MOTIF XF. Also when I switch on my Motif Editor the Editor is in RED with the message “Port Open Error”. 

I would greatly appreciate if you could help me identified what I doing wrong or if there is any other download I missing in the process.
