Hi All,

I would like to be able to change the Tempo of the MX49 Rhythm Pattern playback from an external MIDI controller using CC commands.  Is there any way to do this with the MX49?  I see from the MX MIDI Data Format specification that the Tempo can be controlled with MIDI parameter changes, but my external MIDI controller can only send MIDI control change commands.  Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

...should work if your controller has 5-pin DIN MIDI out that runs at 5 volts. If the controller uses 3.3 volt MIDI, then that MIDI Solutions device will require an external power supply.

Thanks for the recommendation on the external MIDI processor.  However, I was really looking for a solution that would not require purchasing additional hardware, especially hardware that costs more than my external MIDI controller!  I was hoping that there might be a way to do the MIDI mapping internal to the MX49.  I have the Melas MX Tools available to me, so I am able to edit any of the internal MX49 parameters and control sets.

I also have an IPad that could be used as part of the MIDI processing signal chain between my external MIDI controller and the MX49.  What would be the best iPad app for mapping incoming MIDI CC commands to outgoing MIDI Parameter Change commands that could control the MX49 Rhythm Pattern Tempo?
