Hi,
Any advice on how to achieve that wood block solo sound on Girls Just Want To Have Fun? I have both 80’s libraries, but that’s not in them.
Thanks
Paul S

I made a perf layering “dual square lead” with “Udu” that’s close enough (for me!).

Just a wood block with short release time and pitch bend set to +/- 24 for that bendy bit at the end...played that song years ago lol… i used a Roland D5 for that bit. :-)

Ended up modifying a square wave, worked ok I thought, but now I see not so much (through a PA.)
I will try these suggestions.
Thanks everyone.

Update.....after experimenting, I found the following preset voice to be just about perfect for this “woodblock solo sound” in this tune.

Its Voice, Pre 6, F-7,(087) “TRANCE ATTACK”
Went into the EG/EQ tab (F3 button) and set the following parameters:

AEG ATTACK= +14
AEG DECAY= -14
AEG SUSTAIN= +7
AEG RELEASE= +6

CUTOFF= -7

I LEFT ALL OTHER SETTING ALONE.

Very happy with this sound, sounds just about perfect!!
Give me a shout out if you end up using this :)
Good luck and Rock on!
