I was a bit apprehensive, but actually white looks good in my studio!

Installed is:

Firmware ver 1.50.4
Kernel ver 2.6.10_mvl401-1.1.1.motif_xsmc.98
Contents ver 1.50.4

Is this the latest and greatest OS?

I received my white motif XF 7 in January.  That version is what I have installed. I love the white top panel.

Yes, I am quite enjoying the white! It looks classy and is a good contrast to everything else in the studio, which is mostly black.

I also think that the black control labels on the white background makes it more readable.

I’m working away at trying to figure out how to record, edit Performances using Cubase.  Trying to figure out which will be the best approach for me.

PS - as an added benefit the white was discounted by 10%! (Thank you Yamaha Canada). So a nice savings. And, I get to say XF8 WH which make me feel so much more important. LOL
