Viewing topic "Motif Rack XS drum key application to other kits?"

I’ve got a Rack XS that I have configured with Cubase 7.5 as an external instrument with 3 stereo and 8 mono audio returns.  Everything works flawlessly using the “drum” output and mapping individual kit pieces via drum keys.

For example my Power Standard Kit 1 is configured within a multi like this:

Kicks - m1
Snares - m2
Hi hats - m3
Cymbals - m4
Toms - m9 & m10 (stereo)
All other percussion keys - m5

Essentially I have the entire keyboard mapped according to this arrangement.

This is where I have a question.

Given that most of the kits use a similar arrangement of instruments across the keys, it would save me a lot of time working with the drum kits if I could simply apply an already configured key mapping to any of the other kits.

However as soon as I change the voice to another drum kit all the drum mappings go back to default L&R;.  I’ve check the manual and on the forums and haven’t seen anything

My assumption is that I have to configure the keys for each drum kit separately - but hopefully I’m wrong and there is a way.

Any thoughts?
