Hi brandonforte, Welcome to the forum. It is very difficult to diagnose your problem without knowing how the Motif and your Mac are physically connected and what drivers are installed. |

That’s still not a lot clearer. Which interface? Which driver? That sounds like you are using 5 pin MIDI cables? (USB being the alternative) Please can you go to Mainstage > Preferences > MIDI tab > Setup and it should pull up the Audio MIDI Setup Utility. Check to see if your interface is recognised there in the MIDI window. If it is showing up but is shaded out you may have the wrong driver installed or you may have a connection problem. |

You do not need the Yamaha Steinberg USB MIDI driver to use the Alesis. You do need to install the driver for the Alesis if there is one, have you done that? What kind of cable are you using between the Motif and the Alesis? What kind of cable are you using between the Alesis and the MacBook Pro? Please can you go to Mainstage > Preferences > MIDI tab > Setup and it should pull up the Audio MIDI Setup Utility. Check to see if your interface is recognised there in the MIDI window. ----------------------- We’ll get there, please provide as much info as possible, if you are not an English speaker, take a photo and upload it. it is very difficult to help you with such a limited amount of information. |
