Yes, the MOXF can do “Step Recording”. See pages 40-42 of the MOXF Owner’s manual. A PDF version of that manual and others for the MOXF can be downloaded here:

Thanks for the replies, I read the manual pages, looks a little fiddly to use! It’s a shame that it doesn’t utilize the 16 buttons on the synth as a step sequencer.

Since there are other synths available that are much less “fiddly” to use when it comes to step-sequencing, you may want to consider a different machine over the MOXF if that function is very important to you.

I really don’t think you will find the MOXF exceedingly friendly as a step-sequencer...although it will do a lot of other things quite well!

Agreed. The reason I referenced the pages in the manual rather than just reply “Yes, there’s a step sequencer” was so that the operation was clear. One thing I hate is when someone buys something and then has buyer’s remorse. I’d rather answer questions for happy owners.  :-)

I’ve come to the conclusion that the power of the MOXF is right for me, I’ll add the Auturia BeatStep at some point to give me the Step Function, should work ok with the MOXF?

Just wondered if you did get a Beatstep to use with the MOXF? I’m thinking of getting something like the Beatstep Pro and hooking up to my MOXF6 to give an easier step sequencing experience.
