I use the MX as a sound module controlled by a Doepffer 88 hammer action controller through classic midi cable.( midi out -> midi in ) i can t use split and layered sounds when played from external controller. I can hear these sounds when i use the mx but with external midi i hear only the upper sound. Plase help!

Think this is because the Doepffer is sending out on only one MIDI channel and so it’s aligning itself with one half of the split. Change the output MIDI channel of the Doepffer and you should hear the other sound. You’ll need to set up a zoned MIDI output on the controller. Not sure how you do this but hopefully you will be able to figure that one out.

But what about layers? Can i root 2 layers on a midi Chanel?

The MX functions a bit differently than some of the other Yamaha keyboards. To understand how to use an external controller with an MX, see this thread:
