*We notice that it seems the MX performs midi file playback via USB storage (thumb drive). We wonder if any option exists in creating midi files that would hold some sort of playback command code which would cause a specified passage of the midi file to loop until cued via a trigger such as a footswitch or specified keyboard key? Could something like this be done in a program like Cubase, then saved to USB storage as midi with the loop until cued feature in question, to effectively playback on an MX or other midi player capable of reading from USB? Thank you,

No, there is no such command available for the MX to loop until cued. The PATTERN mode of a MOX or MOXF will lend itself to real time control of Pattern Sections.
