I have recently acquired an Alesis Q88 MIDI controller to trigger my XS6. I have no problems triggering the individual voices of the XS6 with the Q88. I know by default the MIDI controls channel 1 in voice, pattern and song mode.

My question is...is there a way of playing the other voices i.e. automatically change MIDI channels to play track 2 to 16 using my Q88? For example, in song mode...I’m playing piano on track 1 which is triggered by the Q88 then I move on to play strings on track 2 however the Q88 stops triggering the XS6. Is there a way on configuring the Q88 to play tracks 2-16 as well?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Did Alesis provide an owner’s manual?

That wasn’t meant as sarcasm - I was going to try to help, but since it seems that Alesis hasn’t made the manual available for download, it’s hard to tell what kind of MIDI implementation the Q88 has.

If anyone has a link to a Q88 manual, please let us know.

Came across this old thread searching for a different solution.

I found this link to the Q88 user manual and thought it might help.
