Hi All,

I am stil new to MOX but have some midi experience…
I am just interested in creating some custome arps in my MOX using midi files. (Its described in the reference manual)

I wants to know how to do an arp with mega voices. It should be a chord intelligent.

I recorded some preset mega voice arps as midi data to cubase & had a look.
What I realized was the notes are changing according to the chord
but the notes representing the fret noises & cut noises does not change with the chord despite they are in the same midi track…

Can anyone explain me about this… If i do a new midi file using a mega voice with normal chord notes in C Maj 7 with the cut noises & fret noises,,, what will happen in the arp…

I think this applies to a style file in tyros & PSR models as well

Thanks in advance

Can anyone explain me about this

:-) The sound effects (fret noise, scrapes, etc.) are converted separately.

When you are using the SEQUENCER [JOB]: PUT TRACK TO ARPEGGIO - you will notice that there are four CONVERT Tracks. The first one you would use for the notes that are going to be converted and follow the CHORD QUALITY - you convert these using CONVERT TYPE = ORG NOTES (and set the ORG NOTE ROOT so that you define where on the keyboard the original pitch should be triggered).

The other tracks can be used to convert the NOISES.

How to setup a sequence for a Mega Voice.

in SONG or PATTERN mode:
Set the same Guitar Mega Voice in at least two PARTS side-by-side.
On Track 1 record the NOTES (the musical data)
On Track 2 record the “noises” - they will have their own separate rhythm - you can overdub the noises where you feel that they should occur. You don’t want fret noise for every single note-on event, just where you figure the hand would be moving to make a new chord. Record the noises with care.

Arpeggios are more about the rhythm…

When you convert the data to an ARP, using PUT TRACK TO ARPEGGIO, use ORG NOTE to convert Track 1’s data, use FIXED NOTE to convert the noises from Track 2.

Hi,

Thank you Bad Mister for the detailed explanation. I am sure that is the way to do an arp with mega voice.
I just need to ask one thing. I am having problems with syncing my mox with cubase.

I am recording arps to cubase. I cant figure out how to set the clocks to record midi data to cubase without having any quantize issues.

In other words i can set both tempos to be the same. But I cant do a sync start to record with quantize,,

I know bad mister will have the denifite answer for this as well.

Thank you for your advices so far.

Bye
