I recently picked up an EX.P expression pedal in hopes that it would allow me to control the individual volumes of layers in a performance.  I have read many posts on here on how to use the FC7 and my thought was that I could use the EX.P the same way.  But it doesnt work, it will only control the overall volume not the volume of the individual layers even after I go into edit and tell which part I want not to recieve the signal.  Is there a reason this pedal may not be compatible or do I have to set something else up in order for it to work?

Thanks

What is an “EX.P expression pedal”?
And which keyboard do you own, MO or MOX?

It is made by M-audio and it is called the EX.P expression pedal.  They say it is for use with electronic keyboards.  I have the MOX8.

Sorry, we are not familiar with that particular pedal. It may not work for your MOX - expression works on specific voltage tolerances. A generic expression pedal would have to have multiple settings because each manufacturer may use different settings. Contact the makers of the pedal or the store where you purchased it and get help setting it up.

OR simply....

Get the Yamaha FC7 as recommended by your Owner’s Manual. Built for it and works straight away!
