I think I may have previously listed this question in the wrong category, since this is a keyboard/midi controller question, I’ll ask here:
I have a Motif Rack XS. I’d like to know if Yamaha controllers have smoother compatibility or more functionality with their Motif Rack tone generators than other controllers. Something like offering Motif Rack extensions, a midi controller template for the Rack XS in their keyboard midi controllers, etc, etc..

If you have a Motif-Rack XS and have a question - this is the forum heading for it. Yamaha doesn’t currently make a dedicated MIDI keyboard controller. All Yamaha Motif-series, S-series, MOX-series, and MX-series, have Remote Control functions built-in to their firmware systems, so that you can control external DAW software and different external synthesizers via the DAWs VSTi routing. if you are asking about using the Motif-Rack XS in a “live” performance situation, you have to figure out what particular things you wish to control and make sure the controller keyboard you decide to get has the ability to send the commands necessary. The Motif-/S-/MOX-series feature a MASTER mode designed to control both internal and external setups in a live performing situation. But as to a keyboard that is just a controller… As mentioned, Yamaha does not currently make one. |
