I’m using a spare bedroom while I sort out a proper studio space upstairs. I took these today to serve as a reminder in years to come what it looks like now!

Dreamflight,

Donate some equipment to a music school. I can hardly believe you will use all those instruments.

Actually, all but one get heavy use, each has at least a few ‘go to’ sounds that are better than any other in the room. The synth I use least is the S90, as it doesn’t really have anything that the Motifs can’t do. I’m going to part exchange that for a really nice acoustic piano that a friend of mine wants to sell, as she wants to learn piano and doesn’t have space for the acoustic.

I’m now planning the conversion of a large area in the top of my house (approximately 4x the size of the bedroom pictured) to a proper acoustically treated studio environment - hopefully I can get this accomplished in the next 12 months.

There is an SY85 above the Trinity! The triton is the Triton Rack, just visible above the right hand side of the XS8.

You’re running out of space… soon, the rats will take over and have their own gig there and those dudes sure know how to party (:

just kidding of course, Great collection! i’m know you know your gear well and that you get the best out of it.

i decided not to buy anymore keyboards until something really revolutionary will come out, the last synth i bought was the M3 and it was almost three years ago, since then, i invested most of my money on studio gear and some nice orchestral libraries such as LASS, Holywood strings, Symphobia2 and also some plugins.

i still use my keybords constantly for synth sounds such as leads pads and atmospheric sounds, FX sounds and such because i still prefer and love the sound and the control over sound in a hardware synth, i also love using all the native instruments stuff(reaktor, absynth, FM8, Massive...)
but for realistic and acoustic instruments such as strings and orchestral instruments, pianos, guitars, bass, drums and percussion… i’ll use those unbeaten and well known sample libraries.

You have so many keyboards and you keep dreaming to become the next Jean Michelle Jarre . By the way Jean Michele Jarre and other real producers don’t give a f--k about Motif this days because they use mainly only VSTs.
If you want to find why you can;t become a great music composer and you are just a bathroom hobby composer for many years ,jut check out my other MoLounge thread called :
Motif Users are BEGGING for a new workstation

:-) Thanks Stone!

Although I could never get past the hobbyist level in my musical endeavours, seeing his motivation and love for music, I’m hopeful that my son would definitely do much better. Only time will tell. I just let him explore various things so he can discover where his real passion lies.

I’m hoping it’s the love for music.

I predict that in a few more years you’ll have to ask permission to use your own gear, or at least negotiate a time-sharing arrangement.  ;-)
