Hello all in the world of Motif- I have the Spectrasonics Trillian program (great bass patches btw)that I’ve had for close to a year now. I had been using it with ProTools as a plugin. Within the program there is a section called Bass Legends which contains samples from M.Miller, J.Pattitucci and A. Laboriel. I saw on the Spectrasonics webpage that you can purchase the Bass Legends sample library. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t I already have those samples? If so, can I load those samples into the Motif and use them as user voices? I’m just starting to understand the bare minimum of sampling (i.e. recording background vocals to my tracks) so incorporating samples from other programs etc. is over my head.
Please help…

Don’t know where you get the idea you already have the Bass Legends
Do you mean this library? -

No, I meant in the Trillian program itself. When I want to record in my DAW, I can use the BL’s patches within the Trillian plug-in and I was wondering if I could load that BL’s sample library into the XF. Maybe I’m using the incorrect terminology. |

This is what I was referring to…
But I was assuming I already had this in the actual program itself because it has a special section titled Bass Legends. |

Trilian (just 1 ‘L’), is a software instrument and there is no means available to you to extract samples out of that virtual instrument. So, no you do not own those samples per se, you own a sotfware instrument that contains them… |

Ok, thanks for the replies, much appreciated. So are there any virtual instruments ( such as NI Ac. Piano, Mr. Ray’s 73)that has samples that can be brought into the XF, or do the same rules apply? So if I’m correct, I need to look for “sample libraries or voice libraries” in order to bring those sounds into the XF? Thx |

Practically speaking, no. There are “translation” programs that can
For all practical purposes, software virtual instruments are meant to

Hi! I have the Laboriel bass collection but for my K2000. I really would like to get hold of it again since I can´t seem to be able to translate them into Motif readable sounds. Anyone help??
