We cannot help you with Pro Tools, but we can help you with the Motif ES. First you’ll need to tell us how you are connecting your Motif ES to your computer

My last post In This Thread details the complete setup for the Motif. Granted this particular thread deals with the XS but, the setup is essentially the same- just exchange ES for XS…

THe name can be added manually.

In this part

“Go to ‘SETUP> MIDI> BEAT CLOCK. Select the Yamaha Port #1 for MIDI Beat Clock. And, elect the Yamaha Port #1 in SETUP> PERIPHERALS, under both the Syncronization and MIDI Machine Tabs… “

I have no port #1

I do have port #2 but im guessing where port #1 is supposed to be it shows the name i gave the device(Motif ES7) and thats what i selected for the beat clock

and in the sync part

on the MTC Reader Port it does show Yamaha motif es port 1 so i selected it but on the MTC Generater port again it does not show port #1 only port #2 and above but it does show Motif ES7

That’s correct… That’s the purpose of creating the Device in AMS, so that the port will be easu to identify...

on the MTC Reader Port it does show Yamaha motif es port 1 so i selected it but on the MTC Generater port again it does not show port #1 only port #2 and above but it does show Motif ES7

Again choose the port that is named Motif ES7

You have to follow the instructions for setting the I/O of the MIDI Track at the bottowm of that post and, of course, the output of the XS should be cabled to the input of your Audio Interface…
