Hi there, I’m sure this issue has been run into before, so hopefully, it’s a simple fix, but I’ve searched the site and am having difficulty finding a match to my specific issues, so here goes: I use a Windows Vista laptop with Cubase LE4 and have been happily recording MIDI from my MO8 for months. I’ve recently been turned onto Studio Manager and downloaded it to try. Install is normal, but the device editor box of the modify workspace tab offers no devices. I took for granted that the functionning usb-midi connection to the mo8 would cover this, but I seem to be missing something. Also, the Studio Manager manual completely bypasses this and just assumes that devices are available. I am using v2.3.1 of SM and 3.0.4 of the windows yamaha usb midi driver. (I was previously using 2.3.0 and 3.0.3 but have upgraded to the latest versions of everything in my troubleshooting efforts) I would appreciate any information you could provide in helping me to get SM to recognize my MO8. thanks! |

Also are you using the right version of the Studio Manager 2.3.1? One is for 64-bit systems and there is a 2.3.1 for 32-bit systems, you don’t mention which you have, nor do you mention which of the two Studio Managers you downloaded.
Dec. 29, 2009 Studio Manager V2.3.1 for Windows 7/Vista/XP 64-bit
Same goes for the USB-MIDI driver there is a 64-bit and a 32-bit driver… Let us know. |

Gentlemen, yes, I seem to be using the 32-bit version in each case since my version of vista is 32-bit. from the following page: http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/downloads/firm_soft/index.html I downloaded USB-MIDI Driver (V3.0.4 for Win 7/Vista; V2.2.4 for Win XP/2000) Oct 23, 2009 and Studio Manager V2 Host (V2.3.1 for Win 7/Vista/XP; V2.3.2 for Mac OS X) Nov 13, 2009. These are zip files each containing pdf format documentation and the setup.exe I didn’t see any other files, so I’m not sure what other modules you are referring to. hope this helps shed a bit more light… |

that’s just the name of the link. I wanted to show you exactly where I got the software. That link leads to a PC download. The software installs and everything, just… no devices. Any suggestions? |

Yes, download the Studio Manager for your computer… July 15, 2009 not the date you listed… July 15, 2009 is the 32-bit version !!! This is a case where the latest is not for your computer… If you have a 32-bit computer, use the 32-bit version of the software. Let us know.
