To mark the launching of the new site, there will be some very
important updates for DCP XS libraries coming soon. I’ll be
working with Keyfax to get these up as soon as possible, and
hopefully we can get the system worked out so that if you already own the library, the system will have that information and you
can link immediately to the download of the update free of charge.

First, there are updates to Complete Orchestra XS, Brass XS, and Orchestral Strings XS. These will all be “version 2.0” now.
Most of the voices have been gone over in great detail and tweaked
further for improved sound, playability, expression and realism,
particularly the solo brass and solo strings. There is finally
a growl tenor sax in Complete Orchestra XS, and two growl tenor saxes in Brass XS. All voice volume levels have been rebalanced as well, and some minor mapping changes to certain sample waveforms
have been made. As I stated, the updates will be free to existing
library owners.

The release schedule for Action Sound FX/Foley XS has been pushed
back to late March, as the database for that library has grown
bigger than anticipated and I’m still sorting through all of it.
The library will be 256 voices, and be much larger in terms of
sample data size.

More products are indeed on the way after that, including what
may be the biggest new DCP library of all - Vintage Keys 2.
This will include sampled recreations of many famous “classic”
keyboard-driven song sections, such as the intro to Pink Floyd’s
“Money”, the intro to “Who Are You” by the Who, the breakdown for Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein”, the bass runs, background noises, and the clock/alarm sounds from Pink Floyd’s “On The Run(Dark
Side of the Moon), the opening of Yes’ “Roundabout”, specific
sounds from songs by Prince, Gary Numan, the Cars, and much more.
We’re planning on getting some very famous heavyweight “artist
authorizations” for this library as well. All of the original
Vintage Keys sounds will be there (many in re-worked form).
Since this library will use new samples and feature new voices,
it will not be a free update for existing Vintage Keys owners,
but rather will be made available as a new library, alongside
the original Vintage Keys XS.

Also upcoming in the new library category will be the “Virtual CP80” electric grand library, “Liquid Circuits” which is a sample-based electro/techno/industrial/soundscape library that picks up where “Motronix” left off, and a new sampled Taylor acoustic guitar library which includes full strummed chords in a large variety of types and keys.

Thanks Dave.  Really cool that you are giving updates to Complete Orchestra for free.  I am exited about the new libraries. Will Vintage Keys 2 have new Rhodes samples?

That’s great news. Vintage keys was one of my favorite libraries for the ES. I have not bought it for the XS because I feel I would pay twice for almost the same, but a new and different library is much more interesting :)

I will look forward to it. I wonder if there will be an Rack XS version? and if so, will it be included with the XS keyboard version?

I am aware that there are replies to this thread, but for some reason I cannot view them from any of my computers, so bear with me if I’m not answering questions at the moment (I’m guessing there are some).

I will contact keyfax on Monday and find out why I cannot view replies to my posts.

Sorry Dave - and everybody else of course - I am currently working on fixes here, and have been doing so basically since the site launched last night.

I am aware of this biggest bug, and am trying to track it down, all the while fixing all the other things that either surface or that I overlooked to begin with.

So cool to hear this, but I won’t give up my ES for anything as I have every bank to get and can’t justify an XS. I know the XS is superior. Please don’t forget those with an ES.

Of course any ES library that you have ( whether third party like Dave’s or sounds you built yourself) will automatically be translated and load directly in to the XS, Dave has spent a lot of time on taking advantage of the new features on the XS when developing these new libraries.

I logged out so I could see the replies to this thread. So I am
now answering “from memory”, as I cannot yet see replies to any
thread I start myself (of course, Keyfax is presently working on
this known bug).

Anyway, there will be no XS rack versions of the new libraries.

Exact MB size for each of the new DCP libraries is not yet determined.

There “may be” a few new libraries for the ES (the Taylor
guitar, CP80 and “Conkussion” are the likely candidates), but from
here on out most of the new stuff will be XS only. Frankly, the
XS allows me to create the kind of products I’ve always wanted to,
but moreover, creating libraries for both the ES and the XS takes
twice as long because I have to first do one for the ES and then
do it over for the XS. It’s not just a simple port from the ES
to the XS.

Vintage Keys II is targeted for June release.

With sample-based libraries it is impossible to release XS Rack
versions because the rack doesn’t have sampling.
