How can I delete “NEWDIR” “NEWDIR01” etc. I seem to have created these by accident, but can’t get rid of them

From File mode…
Press [F5]Delete, highlight the folder name, then press Enter.
See page 267 of the Classic Motif Owner’s Manual.

If that doesn’t work, then there’s probably Motif data content in the folder.
