Is there a glossary available anywhere to explain the meaning of all the abbreviations used throughout the MOXF? Even some of the Arpeggio Category names leave me baffles as to what they are and then I’ve just started getting into effects as well and that’s a minefield! Destinations in particular I’ve no idea what a lot of them are. |

There’s no single source for the information that I’m aware of. Hopefully the following will be somewhat helpful…
General terms, some abbreviations:
Arpeggio types are found within this support article:
Arpeggio categories and sub-categories:

Controller Set Destinations, Effects:
If you have specific questions, please ask. |

If Yamaha decided to compile a glossary of their terminology and abbreviations for all their synths historically, the company would implode, and if you called up about it, you’d find yourself talking to either a much older or younger version of yourself. Also, where there were stars, you’d now see plaid across the sky. |

LOL, okay, the real question is how much Nihongo you would need to know to understand the person you ended up talking to.. But all kidding aside., maybe it would be a good application to add to motifator.com It would be nice to have a Motif/Mox glossary on motifator that was searchable by keyword, or alphabetically browsable. A mysql table could be created that had the acronyms, and a brief description, and maybe the name, of the reference document(s) or reference source(s). Or we could possibly put together a web page front end to the actual .pdf documents that would save the effort of getting everything into a database. if you have the source pdf documents many of the acronyms are easy enough to look up.,, but having them all on motifator searchable by keyword would be very convenient. |
