Hi,
Doing an 80s show, wondering if there an Arp pattern in the XF like the one in “Rio”?

Thanks!

That is a Roland arpeggiator, I think it’s called “random” from a Jupiter. Not to be found on Motif XF, I fear.  I play the sync lead on my xf, other synths do the arp and strings.

Not easily emulated.

emulate:
1. to try to equal or excel; imitate with effort to equal or surpass  :-)

While I don’t think the goal is to “surpass”, the question is how close you want/need to come to equaling.

Here’s a suggestion by Motifator member zippydog:

(It’s for “Hungry Like the Wolf”.) The Voice mentioned is PRE7 A03 on the XF (and XS, etc.). The Arp, 7058 MA_Electro1, is number 6057 in the XS for interested users of that model.

I am not at my house at the moment to check what sound I used when emulating Hungry Like The Wolf myself. I think it was an edit of one of the new analog sequencer sounds in Preset Bank 9 in my XOF, which I believe is user bank 1 on Motif.
The arp you need for that is number 7403.

These should cover all your needs

Seq Genrl 7402 MA_Random Oct1 4 / 4 1 120 :
Seq Genrl 7403 MA_Random Oct2 4 / 4 1 120 :
Seq Genrl 7404 MA_Random Oct3 4 / 4 1 120 :
Seq Genrl 7405 MA_Random Oct4 4 / 4 1 120

Wow....good info,

Thanks again all!  :)

UPDATE 08/24/2020
On my XF6
Ended up using Voice Bank: Voice, Pre 2, A-1 (roundabout)

Set the Arp to: Bank= PRE, Catagory= CPrc, Sub Catagory= (Genrl)
Type: 4466 Mallet Roll

(Another one that was close was Type: 4475 Steel Drum2)

Set the BPM to 140 and can play single keys or partial chord voicings for each chord change, gotta experiment. (I ended up playing single keys, though not exact, it sounds similar to the Jupiter3 that Duran Duran used :)
