Hi!

Is it possible to use S80 preset voices on my XF? Can I convert the files, or is there another way to use them?

The file extension is .s2a, if that helps.

Could I write software? ;-D

Preset data isn’t stored in an “All” file, so unless a Preset has also been stored in a User location, it won’t be in a .S2A file.

Depending on your goal and what’s in the file, you might find this of interest:

Of course, just how useful S80 settings would be depends on whether you have similar Waveforms available.

It supposedly contains the Preset 1 bank, and there are other files, some of which have converted CS6x voices.

The S80 has 24 MB of Waveforms in ROM. Additional Waveforms were available in optional PLGs. There’s no User memory for samples, so none are found in “All” files.

Since the XF can load ES files (within limits described in the Reference Manual), the conversion tool here might be useful:
