Any easy way to do this without a computer or additional interface?  The USB controller I have has a block-trpe USB jack, which is the same as the Motif’s .  I don’t suppose some exotic cable can make this work?  It would be nice for a second keyboard player in my band to be able to play sounds at the same time (on a different midi channel), and would save additional mixboard inputs compared to using a second keyboard which produced its own sounds.

You’ve probably noticed that the jack on the XF is labeled TO HOST. You’d need to provide a device that can act as a host, such as a computer or USB MIDI host (which also requires that the USB keyboard be class-compliant).
