Hi I have a Motif XS8 and want to get a PC laptop for music production.

1...What is the most compatible laptop to get ?

2...Also which is better Windows 7 or 10 for music production ?

I have up to now used Cubase 4 with a PC desktop XP 32bit with fire wire and everything working perfectly but XP is no longer supported and I need to finally upgrade.

I really hope someone can help me with this :)

I no longer have an XS, but I did connect to an HP laptop with Windows 7 a few years back using the same cubebase 4. 
Having said that, I never used cubebase again.  And the connection I used was USB

In your other posted question re FireWire, I’m using an XF but as far as I know, there are no differences with regard to computers being used. 

At this time I’m using Windows 10 and the connection of FW to my DAW was really plug and play.
