...on my motif xs8… I select the file of patterns that I want autoloaded...and hit the store button… and when I turn the power on, it doesn’t load it…

Make sure Auto Load is turned on before pressing [STORE]. See pages 262-263 of the XS Owner’s Manual.

If that doesn’t help…
Are there any messages shown on the XS display as it boots up?
If so, what?

I’ve never had Auto Load fail to work when it’s set up correctly.

After you press [SF5], Select your file, and press [ENTER]

What is shown on the Auto Load Setup display screen, just under “Auto Load on”?

It should be the USB drive designation, followed by the name of the “all pattern” (.X0P) file.

If so, pressing [STORE] completes the operation.

In my opninion autoload only works with 1 USB stick. If you are using 2 or more sticks it seems that the Motif is remembering the last saved autoload.

So if the last saved autoload is on stick no.1 autoload will work correctly when using stick no. 1. If you want to use stick no.2 (also with an autoload) the Motif will not find the autoload file....

The Motif “remembers” the last file that was Selected and Stored. It will Auto Load that file as long as Auto Load is turned on and the USB drive with that file is a compatible one.

http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/motif_xs_auto_load
Files such as All Pattern/.X0P, will also work.

However, it’s important that Power On Factory Auto Set is not activated. See page 22 of the XS Owner’s Manual.

I presume that you resampled a sequence. See http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/how_to_make_a_wav_or_aiff_for_cd_mp3_creation
The last few steps in the METHOD 4: RESAMPLING section of that support article explain how to create a WAV (or AIFF) file on a USB drive. If the level is too low, you may want to Normalize, which is also explained in that section.
