When Yamaha names WAVE presets, they sometimes append a + or - (e.g. AP:Piano1 St +). What do the + and - mean? Also, some have only - (e.g. Wv:FatSaw-). Maybe the answer will make that reason obvious to me.

Also, if there are clues to cryptic naming like “TabraBya” might be helpful.

The distinction between L, R, and St is not obvious to me either (from experimenting). I expected Left side, Right side, and Stereo but when I select L or R it seems left and right volume are the same ... plus, one would think a panning parameter would be used to do that separation.

Last, I’m amazed I can’t find the definitions for the abbreviations: Ap, Ep, etc. Most are easy to discern, but “Cp” (chromatic percussion?) and “Pi” (???) leave me wondering a little bit.

The answer may give me some insights on how to blend sounds. If this is in the documentation, I would appreciate a reference. My instrument is MOTIF6 I just picked up used ... thus ancient history.

Sorry for this simple question. I didn’t know now to phrase it to search the forum for the answer.
