Hello, is anyone here that got the Motif Editor to work with Studio One 3? The problem for me is that i can’t get the Motif Editor to get “online” status, I’m trying to connect with USB, I don’t know how to get all the MIDI ports to open. Anyone have this problem? I really appreicate all the help! Thanks. Image Attachments

I know nothing about Studio One 3. However, let’s see if some basic things are correct before concerning ourselves with that. 1) Verify that the XF is set for USB operation. See page 228 of the XF Reference Manual, (4) MIDI In/Out, for details.
2) Make sure that you’ve downloaded and installed the correct USB-MIDI Driver for your computer type and operating system, available from http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?site=usa.yamaha.com&category_id1=16277&product_id=1073315
3) Especially if the USB-MIDI driver wasn’t previously installed, try to set up the ports in Studio One. Primary MIDI In and Out (Port 1) are MOTIF XFx-1, where x = 6,7, or 8. 4) If the above doesn’t help, have you tried running the Editor standalone? |

I do, and it works perfectly. In Studio One you must create two new instruments.
Instrument 1 = Keyboard
Instrument 2 = Instrument
In Studio One you create a song, add instrument
And turn off Local on. P.S. If you have problems with the ports, use Motif XF-4, not Motif XF-1 (I’m not at home and cannot check the exact setting) |

Hello thanks for the reponse! I did what you told me to do and i get midi and i do get audio from an audio track. But i still have the problem with Motif Editor at Port 1 it still says “Not Assigned” When i go into the Motif Editor in standalone i can see that all the ports are assigned but i can still not go Online… I mean… If you got it to work it must be possible for me to get it working? |

Let’s take this a bit at a time.

I run the XF Editor standalone without problem. I’m doing it under XP SP3. Let’s see if we can at least get yours running standalone as well. |

I have the Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit and i have never updated the OS for the motif. I have the “USB-MIDI Driver V3.1.4 for Win 64-bit (Win7 SP1 / Win8 / Win8.1 / Win10)” installed. It says “Firmware Version Error” when i try to press Start inside the standalone motif editor. |

It is correct that Port 1 is not assigned in the editor.
Important is that you use the Motif XF keyboard (or any MIDI controller)
If you don’t get it to work, I can send you a screenshot of my settings

You’re welcome :)
Yes, you can change them in the Editor.
Keep attention that the Editor is always online.
