Is it possible to assign transpose +/- to Octave buttons or to assign transpose to AF1/AF2 or any other buttons instead going to Utility as I need quick transpose function on live situation, thanks. |

Where you are trying to transpose just one voice...and are willing to do a little prep work… Use Song Mode...Choose a location - Name the Song “Transpose” Select your voice (Pre A001) Mixing/Edit/Press button 16 Place your original voice in track 16 Go back to button/track 1
Track 1 - Note Shift +1
Store To transpose on the fly, simply hit the appropriate button (1-12) to raise the voice that number of semitones. This is why the original is in track 16. If the voice becomes too high, use the Octave down button. Where you have layers, you will have to devote more tracks per Note Shift - 2 voices layered to be transposed +1 would require Tracks 1/9… +2 would be 2/10 etc. Therefore you would have to use another song location to accommodate +9/+10/+11/… Hopefully have explained all the steps properly. I do though subscribe to playing in the needed key. I’d suggest learning some Nashville Numbering to do this. YH |

I find the method suggested by Dreamflight in the second link to be quite easy. Once done, from Voice, Program, Master, Song, or Pattern mode you can press [UTILITY], then use the Data Dial or [DEC/NO] or [INC/YES] to adjust up to +/-11 semitones. |

I need help!! I saved Pre001 Grand Piano in User 1 009 and saved it transposed down -1 step… In voice mode, it is transposed, however when I put the User 1 009 in track 1 in Song mode, it’s back in the orginal form not transposed… what am I doing wrong? I want to be able to play track 1 live transposed down -1 step…
Thanks

Thanks for the help...but it doesn’t apply to my XF8 for some reason… maybe that’s for the xs...none of those show up...actually it worked at one time and after I tried to load up a bank of sounds in User 4 (that also didn’t work btw) now it doesn’t work… different screens show up in mixing mode… I know it’s just something simple, but Yamaha has really not made it easy to comprehend! I’m pretty savy with most keyboards so not a novice! I understand the problem… I need to have “parameters with voice” switched on… I just can’t find it and can’t get to it in mixing mode. |

It applies to my XF6 and my XS6. It will apply to your XF8 as well.
Â
It’s the same in both the XS and XF, other than screen colors.
Â
If you precisely follow the steps in the support article, turning on Parameter with Voice works as described, and Note Shift settings will be copied for the selected Part (determined by Track buttons [1]~[16]). If you’re not seeing the correct screen, you’ve missed something. You might want to try again. Loading a User bank also works if you do it correctly - it’s something I’ve done many times.
Â
I understand how you feel, but in my opinion the capabilities of the Motifs are worth the effort to learn how to use them. |

I need to have “parameters with voice†switched on… I just can’t find it and can’t get to it in mixing mode. This photo shows it in Pattern mode but can’t get this to come up in Song Mode… can you tell me a page number maybe in the reference manual? Image Attachments

The procedure is identical in Song and Pattern Mixing modes. The button presses are accurately given in the support article.

See the left-hand column of page 194 of the XF Reference Manual, which refers to page 109 for details. |
