Ok I’m sure this is probably completely obvious but nevertheless I’m sort of stumped. I have a MOX8 which I’ve done some recording on etc. but nothing completely in depth and never done any file transfers or connected it up to my computer. A friend of mine wants me to record some songs he’s trying to learn for him to play on his PSR-2000 (old) keyboard. His keyboard needs midi files. So I thought I would just be able to record the song on my MOX and save it to a USB drive, transfer it to my computer and email it to him so he can load it into his keyboard. But when I try to save anything to the USB drive, it’s not coming up as a Midi file, and I only have the option to save ALL songs. There must be an easy way to create a midi file out of a song and get it onto my computer somehow?

You can save a Standard MIDI File (SMF, .MID file extension) to a USB drive. See page 155 of the MOX Reference Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/48534).
