Hi Guys, Can anyone help me finding the way to tune MOXF pitch from A=440 to A=460 ? Is that even possible ??? I would like to play live a couple of tunes with a friend of mine who plays Scottish Bagpipes. cheers Michael |

I can’t recall playing on a synth that _didn’t_ have this feature. On the MOXF, it’s behind UTILITY/F1/SF1 NoteShift (semitones) and Tune (0.1 cents). Unfortunately, it’s not in Hz, but you’ll be able to ear tune the two together—I’ve done it on a MOTIF classic (with a bagpipe). See your Reference Manual p.140. |

Here’s how you can determine fairly closely how many cents to retune (if anyone is interested  :-) )… The closest note to 460Hz is the A# one semitone up, at 466.16Hz (from http://www.phy.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html). The difference between that and 440Hz is 26.16Hz. Since you’re looking for 460, that’s 466.16 minus 460 = 6.16 Hz lower. Dividing 6.16 by 26.16 is about 0.2355, or converted to cents around 23.6. You could Note Shift up one semitone and Tune down about 23.6 cents, or not Note Shift and just Tune up about 76.4 cents. Tweak the cents a bit to get a closer match if needed. |
