I’ve owned my Motif XF6 for about three years now. I am using Master Mode more than ever when I perform.
I have a Performance that I am using with Master Mode. Does anybody know of a way to switch Arps when you are in master mode?
I have tried to use scenes to do this, with no luck. Thank you. |

Just associating a Performance with a Master doesn’t prevent switching of Arps - those Arps that work in Performance mode should also be available in the associated Master. If you’re not finding that to be the case, can you name a factory Performance where creating a Master association exhibits what you’re experiencing? If that’s not practical for some reason, could you post an “All” file with an example? It should be saved “without sample”, and zipped in order to attach it. |

Thanks for your quick reply. I did not pose my question correctly. I Record a 4 bar Performance directly into Pattern. The purpose of this is to just populate the first four tracks with voices and associated effects and arps. I will then add voices to other tracks. I then use Master Mode to link to this pattern. I would like to switch Arps while in Master Mode. Any tricks to get this done? Is there a way to record, say, ARP 1 to Pattern A, ARP to Pattern B, etc. Then I would have to switch Patterns while in Master Mode. Is this a valid workaround? If so, I do not know how to di it. Thanks |

Ignoring Master mode for now, are you able to switch Arps in the Pattern you create? |

I can switch ARPs in Pattern Mode. Or I can record ARPs to separate Pattern (letters) in Pattern Mode. Then, still in pattern mode, I can switch from, say, Pattern A to Pattern B. Works fine. |

I presume you can switch Arps when in Pattern Mixing Edit mode, with a Part selected (since you earlier said you weren’t having success with Scenes). If that’s correct, it would seem to indicate you only have to register each Arp with a Scene (buttons [SF1]~[SF5]). Once that works correctly in the Pattern, it should also work in an associated Master.
Select the Pattern and then…
Repeat those steps four more times. Steps 3 and 4 should not be necessary - the correct screens should already be displayed. At steps 5 and 7 press the next SF button in sequence (SF2, ..., SF5). That should register five Arps to the five Scenes. An associated Master should function as well. |

You’re welcome - let us know how it goes. By the way, after storing the Scenes, if you’re satisfied with the result, be sure to Store the Pattern itself. |

Works like a charm. I’m not sure what I did wrong on previous attempts. This experience confirms a few things for me:
- Motif is a fantastic instrument, but oh, boy, the learning curve.
