I am using Prog Rocker Performance (User A05). I have selected Rock Stereo Kit for percussion but I need to pull the cymbal hit out of it. I have gone to the PDR Rock Stereo kit in Voice mode but I don’t see a way to get to the individual components of the drum track. I was hoping to see something on the visual interface that would just let me pull a fader down to zero. Not seeing it.
Or, do I have to edit the cymbal out of the PDR/Drum Arpeggio for Prog Rocker? I can’t see any way to get into that level. I did find Din’s reference to this page on editing Arps: http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/arpeggios_explored_part_i - - - but I could not figure it out. IF IT HAS to be changed on the Arpeggio level here is where I am at: In Performance Mode I select arpeggio. the arp selected for drums is
Bank Category Sub Category Type
How do I make this arpeggio stop playing the cymbal? |

You should be able to edit the drum kit as shown on page 127. Select the key(s) corresponding to the sound(s) you want to silence (see page 13 of the XS Data List), and set the Element Switch to off (Owner’s Manual page 129). Save the edited kit to a User Drum (UDR) location of your choice. Edit the Performance so it points to the UDR location of the edited kit instead of the original PDR.
If you don’t have the XS Data List handy, here’s a PDF copy:

You’re welcome. By the way, you didn’t say what you’re doing with the Performance, but if your intention is to record it, a particular drum sound could be removed after the recording is made. See 04: Extract Event on page 201 of the XS Owner’s Manual. Once you determine which note(s) in the drum track should be extracted and you do so, you can decide what to do with the destination track. |

It worked! Thanks so much 5pinDIN. Finally I was able to follow an instruction from the book and you and get it right. I may be back in a day or so with another. I was able to follow your instructions (mostly) on sampling a sound. I did get it recorded into the machine but then could not figure out how to cal l it up. the manual confused me. But for tonight, your instructions worked perfectly. |
