I know that with the FW16e the stereo mix of each of the channels is typically routed to the analog L/R outputs on the Motif XS. What I am trying to see is if the signal from the FW16e inputs can be routed to the digital output on the Motif, instead. If so, could someone please explain how that would be done?

If a signal appears at the main line outputs as analog, it’s already in digital form at the DIGITAL OUT. Nothing has to be configured - in fact, there’s no way to change it. Just connect to a coaxial S/PDIF input.
