The shop description doesn’t say much about this title and unfortunately there no excerpt of the content… Thought one of you might be able to answer…

What is the content of this ebook?  Is it just text?  Or it contains screen captures, graphics, etc.?

Is this ebook complete enough to be used standalone without the DVDs? Or it is intended a companion ebook?

No, ebook is not intended to use as a standalone book without DVDs. It is good for tracking Dave story especially if English is not your native language. And furthermore it helps for finding some parts of tutorial faster than going through video material.
