Hi,
My name is Pierre.  I am new to Motif and this forum.  I recently purchased the Motif XS Rack.  I was wondering if the Complete Orchestra - Voice Bank For Yamaha Motif XS will load into it and be compatible?

No, that bank is not usable in the XS Rack because the rack has no sample RAM. That is why you don’t see it listed in the shop for the XS Rack.

Only Voice libraries which depend on Waveforms found in the Rack XS ROM will work.

Do you know there is a dedicated XS Rack Libraries section at the Shop?  The Libraries here are certain to work with the Rack.

For other Library Sections at the Shop, for example, from the first page of the XS Libraries section:

“Library Type: S A library that uses samples
Library Type: W A library that uses the Motif’s internal WAVEROM and does not use nor require any sample memory”

Most any Libraries marketed for the Motif line clearly state whether or not non-native samples are utilized.

In addition to what cmayhle posted, you can usually tell by the size. Anything over about 2 MB is likely to contain samples.
