In the Master mode, i want to assign slider #1 to send CC #100, wich is a separate volume control for the organ engine of my Nord Stage2. I can’t select any CC over 95… WHY?? Thanks! |

If you read the MIDI spec, the CCs between 96 and 102 are for NRPNs:
MIDI CC
MIDI CC
MIDI CC
MIDI CC
MIDI CC
MIDI CC
Vendors who use these CCs for other purposes are violating the MIDI spec, so incompatibility is to be expected. |

Thanks for the answer, but do you mean that they don’t respect MIDI protocol or something like this? |

Yes, that is what I mean. Use of nonstandard CC assignments by some manufacturers causes compatibility issues with mfrs like Yamaha who stick to the spec religiously. The “correct” way would be for Nord to use NRPNs when they run out of CCs below 96, since that is what they are for. With NRPNs, a mfr can specify over 16,000 new controls. Nord is not the only company doing this...Moog, Access, Novation, DSI all play loose with CC assignments. Anyway, I think you are out of luck. |

A MIDI Event Processor should be able to solve the problem, by remapping CC#. MIDI Solutions (see link cmayhle provided) is even a Canadian company. Â :-) |
