[...] I’ve downloaded and installed the 1.8.3 driver from 5pinDIN’s link under Vista ....

and it works :) :) :) [...]

Thanks for the verification.

@ Bad_Mister: It might be reasonable to archive that driver somewhere, since in my experience things tend to become less available online as time goes by.

Hi,
I have moxf8 and Windows Vista. I did not found driver 1.8.3. Under the 5pinDIN’s link is only driver 1.7.3. Can you help me?

Thanks

(I am currently on Ubuntu and windows 7 or 8.1 don’t want to buy. I use Windows Vista only for Music).

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, it appears that Steinberg has updated the driver for the UR22 and removed the version 1.8.3 one that used to be available at the links I previously gave. I would suggest that you contact Steinberg, and ask them to make that driver available somewhere.

If Steinberg won’t help you, then perhaps someone will post and attach a copy of the 1.8.3 Windows driver. The file would need to be zipped.

If neither of the above happens, you could try getting Tools for CI2 1.8.3:
http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads_hardware/downloads_ci2.html
That will install the 1.8.3 USB driver, plus extensions for the CI2. I don’t know if those extensions will impact your usage. (Perhaps the Tools setup will allow you to choose whether the extensions are installed.)

One thing to note is if your MOXF has OS 1.10 on it, then you need to use the 1.8.6 driver.  Unfortunately, that does not work on Vista.

If you want to use the MOXF with the old Steinberg driver, you will need to use OS 1.03 on the MOXF, as the older Steinberg driver does not see the MOXF if 1.10 is installed on it.

1.01 should also work with the older driver.
