Just checking with the collective brain trust:

I want to have at least 5 outputs from the Motif.  I can effectively route the signal in a song mix to either l/r or aux1/auxr (forgive me if that’s the wrong term). 

If I had a firewire interface with multiple outs, like a firepod or 828, could that unit be used to route sound to additional outs?

You can’t do it without a computer being involved.

The only way to have more than 4 outputs is to install the FW16e, connect it to a computer and then add an audio interface to the computer to output the extra channels.

Bummer.  The XS8 has built in FW.  Assumed a fw device could be hooked up to it and set to outputs sans a computer, but I’ll figure out a way to get by with the 4outputs.
