Using i-UX1 with Motif XS7

Hi I have installed Yamaha SetList app on my iPad2, so now I looking into how to connect it with my XS7. When doing it with the i-UX1 to the USB to host will that block the functionality of the midi in/out of the XS7 so I simultaneously can control my keyboard from my iPad and controller through midi in, and control external modules through midi out?

Can the Alesis IO Dock be an alternative to i-UX1? I.e. Connecting by use of USB from the Alesis IO Dock to the USB to Host on the XS7.
