Okay, I feel really dumb.  I have heard several times that the Rhodes on the MOX is great.  I looked through all the category search and couldn’t find it.  Then I started looking for a library of all the voices and couldn’t find it.  I know it has to be somewhere obvious, really obvious.  Would someone end my frustration and let me know?

There isn’t a single particular Rhodes sound, there are many, and they aren’t named “Rhodes”. Several Rhodes Voices can be found in Preset Bank 1 from B06(Vintage’74) through C12.

Thanks.  I am excited to go home and play them.  Is anyone aware of a database of the factory voices and performances so it would be easier to find the voice or performance you want?  There are so many, which is great, but finding what I want can be very time consuming.

Thanks for posting the MOX Data List, cmayhle. Based on the number of downloads already, perhaps some MOX users don’t know where to find the PDF manuals. For anyone who might want more than the Data List, here’s a link to the MOX manuals and other items:

BTW - I do really like the Rhodes voices.  USR1 B14 is my current favorite.

I play a simple version of “Over You” by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, and most all voices make it sound like a church hymn.  This one sounds much better.

You’ve both referred to USR1, but can we assume you each meant PRE1?

Certainly:
PRE1 (MSB=63, LSB=0), number 36=C04
aka “Clicky Dyno MW+AS2”

I think maybe USR1 as shipped from the factory is a dup of PRE1?

While the MOX User Voice banks contain duplicates of Voices from the Preset banks, USR1 is not a duplicate of PRE1. There are eight Preset Voice banks, only three User Voice banks, and Yamaha chose a selection of Voices to fill the User banks.

If anyone is curious, I’ve attached a text file generated by my moX-TEXT program which shows what’s in a factory reset MOX User banks, etc.

The moX-TEXT Windows app that produced the text file is here:

Ah. I think I was thinking of the Nord Stage 2, which IIRC has 4 preset banks, and the 4th is a duplicate of the 1st.
