Any advice to emulate a harmonica on my XF? I need it for Romantics What I Like About You, I haven’t found a good voice to use.

What I Like About You

go to 1:39.

Hi Forum Gurus - I see many have read this request but nobody has commented.  If anyone can recommend a voice I can emulate a harmonica with, much appreciated.  If I need to add a 3rd party library ... ok.

Dave - master of all voices, any thoughts?  I hate to bother everyone with my trivial need, but I’m supposed to add this for our next rehearsal.  The song is technically trivial, of course, I just need a voice to cover that “lead”.

I think the Blues Harp voice is fine for this...not in front of my Motif
at the moment, but I know it’s in there.

This is as much a matter of playing technique as sounds. I’ve played this
song in cover bands using sounds that weren’t anywhere near as good as
the harmonicas in the Motif. In fact I think I used a Roland JP-8000 synth
for it the last time I played this live, and that is a virtual analog synth, not a sample-playback instrument.

Volume pedal, pitch bend - that’s the key to the technique.

You’re not really my type, but I love you.  (great first name too).  Thanks Dave

I sure hope you haven’t been waiting TWO YEARS for a reply.

Unless the voice is hidden or listed under the guise as a “piano”, a category search and simple auditions should find one close enough where I would do some experimentation with voice editing; try and tweak it.  There are plenty of articles in the support section on articulation and voice architecture.  Good luck in your quest...l

See you in 2016
